Himegami no Miko (姫神の巫女) Part I, Chapter 6

Hi again, everyone! Giving you the next release now. Hopefully it doesn’t feel as if you were waiting very long for this one. :) A whole bunch of new terms come up in the second scene of this chapter so, before I even translate the next one, I will probably translate the character descriptions and key terminology found within one of the links on the Himegami website first. For now, though, please read, enjoy and comment!

Thanks to lethe, megan, serene01, Kaizora and lilly_938 for your comments as always. I really wouldn’t be motivated to continue this project in part without your support!

Disclaimer: Himegami no Miko belongs to Uetake Sumio-san, though illustrations belong to Kaishaku, and can be accessed here. This is not being done for profit or for  sale but for the sake of those who can’t understand the text in the original Japanese. The translation is all mine so please do credit me for it, especially if you would like to translate it into another language. Thank you! Read More…

“Wild Drive” by Nagai Masato (Yu-Gi-Oh! 3rd opening)

I Ride, White Lineの上を Oh, Oh, Oh,

Soul

Fly

Soul

Soul

WILD DRIVE WILD DRIVE…

I’m in trouble because my full tank of energy lost its destination
If someone shakes it just a little bit, my boredom will burst

I Ride, on top of the White Line, Oh, Oh, Oh
Sit Down, at the place I trust, Oh, Oh, Oh
I can keep going while I’m lost

Each person gets freedom and passion one by one
For us who were born to shine, our journey continues
The trump card that supports you during daily uncertainty is your Soul
The Best growth will come forth, the unstoppable WILD DRIVE
We are still quietly knocking on the door

Will is searching for the Beat and goes regardless of its appearance
Easily kicking about all the Mighty winds to Fly

The meaning of living Free, Oh, Oh, Oh
Casting my eyes down and waving my hand at Greed, Oh, Oh, Oh
Stand Up, it’s time

Each person gets freedom and passion one by one
For us who were born to shine, our journey continues
The trump card that supports you during daily uncertainty is your Soul
The Best growth will come forth, the unstoppable WILD DRIVE
We are still quietly knocking on the door

The Earth is aimlessly shaking the ground, Oh, Oh, Oh
Getting too carried away, Oh, Oh, Oh
Go on just like that

Each person gets freedom and passion one by one
For us who were born to shine, our journey continues

Each person gets freedom and passion one by one
For us who were born to shine, our journey continues
The trump card that supports you during daily uncertainty is your Soul
The Best growth will come forth, the unstoppable WILD DRIVE
We are still quietly knocking on the door

Knocking on the door

WILD DRIVE WILD DRIVE…

NYCC and NYAF Report

What a crazy weekend it was. I had never been to a convention of this scale. I think there were over 100,000 people in attendance and I’m sure there had to be plenty of coverage about it but, since I averaged about 12 hours at the Javits Center each day on Friday and Saturday, I didn’t hear or see anything about it since I didn’t tune in to the news or read anything in the paper.

At first, just getting in on Friday was a huge fiasco and not handled well at all by the staff. I had bought my ticket and was mailed my badge before the con itself. There was much confusion as far as which line to make to get in since the people who had to pick up badges were looping around the convention center. I was irritated as all hell since there was a panel starting right at 11 am that I wanted to see. I made it there about 15 minutes in so I missed a little but managed to catch most of it. Read More…

At last, Himegami no Miko (姫神の巫女) Part I, Chapter 5

Hello, everyone! Sorry this short release took so long. >.< I did not find the time to translate this before New York Comic Con & Anime Festival like I wanted to because of working and getting ready for it. Then, once back from that 3-day weekend with limited food and sleep but around thousands of people, I caught a cold that took me out for most of last week. I was still going to my job but I was mainly resting every evening. Finally, there was lots of cleaning to be done around the house though I had managed to recover over the weekend. Still, I decided to push through and translate this for all of you today. :)

A report about NYCC will go up before the end of the week, so expect another HnM update at some point afterwards.

Lest I forget in the future, thanks to lethe, lilly_938, megan, serene01, Anonymous, and Kai for your comments and birthday wishes on the last chapter! (Not going to ask you to guess how old I am…) Sorry I didn’t go through to reply to any of you this time!

Disclaimer: Himegami no Miko belongs to Uetake Sumio-san, though illustrations belong to Kaishaku, and can be accessed here. Not for profit or sale, just doing this for practice, fun and people who want to read it in English. Read More…

Happy Belated Birthday to Chikane and Himeko if it is indeed on October 1st (was that ever official?) Well, what I do know is that it is officially Oct. 7th now in my timezone. Therefore, I would like to bequeath my translation of the fourth chapter to you all. Happy Birthday to me! Literally. Once again, I’d like to thank a few select people who left comments for the previous chapter: lethe, lilly_938 and megan. I really do appreciate your comments and encouragement! I should put you all on an honor roll or something from now on, haha.

Anyway, I’m off to celebrate my own (i.e. call it a day, head to bed and then commence the festivities). I am not sure if there will be another release before I go to NYCC/AF in a week. It’s a toss up.

Disclaimer: Himegami no Miko belongs to Uetake Sumio-san, though illustrations belong to Kaishaku, and can be accessed here. I’m not doing it for profit, just translating it for fun and people who want to read it in a language they understand. Do I get to receive any fan mail? No? Phooey. Read More…

Himegami no Miko (姫神の巫女) Part I, Chapter 3 is here!

Hello HnM fans! I would like to first thank those few people who left comments on the previous chapter: serene01, lethe, lilly_938 and Kai. Your words are very encouraging for me! If there is anyone who would like to critique my translation, please feel free to do so! Otherwise, I’d appreciate it if more people let me know what they thought and contributed something. I know you’re out there, I can see the number of views via site stats! >:)

I am not sure at what pace I will release subsequent chapters. Sometimes it may take more time depending on the length of the specific chapter or what I feel like. Hey, take a look at my anime song translations, too. After all, this is what this blog was originally for before the one at Vox closed along with the entire site. I feel like I don’t get enough attention for them…. *sigh* Anyway, feel free to recommend this to other HnM/KnM fans but remember to credit me if you share! :)

Disclaimer: Himegami no Miko belongs to Uetake Sumio-san, while illustrations belong to Kaishaku, and can be accessed here. I’m only doing this for fun and to share my comprehension of it with those who don’t understand it in the original Japanese.  No money involved, though I’m not rich, because I don’t have the desire to make any this way.
